The World turn'd Upside Down; or, The Folly of Man exemplefied in twelve comical relations upon uncommon subjects. [London]: printed and sold in Aldemary Church Yard, [1775?].
12° (153 x 85mm). 24p. Woodcut title vignette and 12 cuts in text. (Pp. 19-20 affected by printing fault.) Early 20th-century red half calf. A RARE CHILDREN'S BOOK, including a story entitled 'The Mad Squire or Fatal Hunting'. Two editions with the suppositious date of 1775 are recorded in ESTC which locates 3 copies of the present 8° edition (NLS, Devon Record Office, and UCL) and one copy of a 'tall 12°' edition, with the word 'Bow Lane' in the imprint (Pierpont Morgan Library). This version of the stories appears to have been first printed in an undated edition of 1750. Not in Osborne.

Turpin, [1786?]. 12° (160 x 101mm). [2] ii [4] 122 [2]p. Engraved frontispiece by and after G. van der Gucht, 16 woodcuts in text. (L5 with internal tear affecting several lines of text recto and verso.) Contemporary sheep (rubbed, spine chipped). Provenance: Henry Trinder (ownership inscription dated 20 July 1792). ONLY EDITION IN ESTC: ONLY ONE COPY LOCATED (Toronto Public Libraries, Osborne collection). The frontispiece is dated Jany. 1st 1786. Not in the Osborne catalogue. (2)
