A Seki School Wakizashi in Mounts
Late Muromachi period (16th century), signed Kane(iwa)
Configuration hirazukuri, uchizori with flowing itame forging pattern of nie and nioi, the tempered edge gunome with areas of hako near the hamachi with clusters of nie and a long return on the tip, the tang ubu with one hole partially plugged and takanoha file marks, single gilt-copper habaki, 30cm. long

Koshirae comprising a black-lacquer ishime-ji saya and applied with a mixed-metal kojiri carved as a plum tree and wheat sheaf, a silver and shakudo kurikata formed as a clam and a sentoku kozuka carved with an eel among water plants in iroe takazogan inscribed Iwamoto Konkan, sentoku ishime-ji plate tsuba pierce-carved in the round with Daruma in a cave with shakudo and gilt details, sentoku ishime-ji fuchi-kashira with fish and crayfish in iroe takazogan, fish menuki finished in copper, silver and shakudo, Edo period (19th century)
