AN UNUSUAL GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A FEMALE ATTENDANT

Well cast standing atop a lotus base, the hands clasped and draped with a cloth to support an offering dish containing a flaming pearl, wearing a necklace suspending a rectangular pendent and a peony-decorated shawl over elaborate layered robes that include feather-trimmed ruyi-shaped overlays on the full sleeves of the three-quarter-length tunic bordered in composite foliate scroll and draped in back with a mallow-decorated panel pendent from the belt, the face cast with crisp features and the hair pulled back into double loops and adorned with 'jewel' decorations, traces of red and green pigment
