A SMALL BROWN-GLAZED IMPRESSED STONEWARE JARLET
LIAO DYNASTY (907-1125)
Of compressed globular form, the sides decorated with wavy cord markings below five impressed 'fish roe' rings evenly spaced below two grooved bands encircling the high shoulder, with further 'fish roe' surrounding the mouth rim, covered with a rich chestnut glaze pooling to a darker color in the recesses and continuing over the foot ring onto the base
2 5/8in. (6.6cm.) diam.
