Lot Essay

Another horizontal signed version was with Mak van Waay, Dordrecht, 26 October 1915, lot 17. In the exhibition catalogue Lof der Zeevaart, Friso Lammertse points out that Van Salm only signed his later paintings with the signature 'A.V.Salm'.
