An unusual Theroude Monkey Harpist Automaton
the monkey with papier-maché head and composition hands, dressed in late 18th Century style clothes including red tails and mustard breeches, sitting on a square seat with turned ebonised legs by a 16-string harp in gilt frame, the single air musical movement accompanies head, mouth and hand actions, on polished oak baseboard with ebonised edges and corner feet, circa 1900 --20in.
