KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

The cylindrical sides painted in iron-red and black with some gilt highlights, depicting a gathering of literati at various pursuits, one group playing audience to one of their number playing a qin, while to one side another practices his calligraphy, and on the other side two men play a board game, two other pairs of figures hold conversations near a large ornamental rock on a terrace
