A GREEK BRONZE HELMET OF CHALCIDIAN TYPE
CLASSICAL PERIOD, CIRCA EARLY 4TH CENTURY B.C.
Of hammered sheet, the carinated crown peaked at the center, with raised contoured brows along the edge of the eye-holes, tapering to a thin raised border around the small nose-guard, the neck-guard flaring, perforated at each end, the cheek-pieces made separately, repaired in antiquity, each serrated along its upper edge and joined to the helmet by three rivets
