ATTRIBUTED TO THE PAINTER OF RUVO 512, CIRCA 340-320 B.C.
The obverse with a maenad and a satyr, the draped maenad to the left holding a fillet and a tympanum in her left hand, a branch in her right, the bearded nude satyr moving to the right and looking back, a wreath in his hair, holding a flaming filleted torch in his left hand, a fillet and a dish of cake in his right, a flowering plant between them, rocks and a plant on the dotted groundline below; the reverse with two draped youths holding staffs, two pairs of jumping weights and a writing tablet in the field; a band of meander and saltire squares below the scenes, laurel above, palmettes and scrolling tendrils below the handles, rays around the handle-plates, details in added white and yellow
