Double-ended courts, no indices, square corner. Ace of spades printed in blue reads, "Excelsior, A. Doughtery, 26 Beekman St., Manufacturer New York." Back design of intricate swirls and shapes in brown against yellow. Includes unusual advertising tuck box that reads, "Alvan L. Lovejoy, Importer and Dealer in Fancy Goods, Fine Cutlery and Toilet Articles, Music Boxes, Dressing Cases, Traveling, Bags, Fans, Writing Decks, Backgammon Boards, &c., 229 Washington-St., under Marlboro Hotel, Boston."
