AN EARLY BATTLEDORE RACKET OF FRENCH ORIGIN, CIRCA 1825
with ash-head (wormed throughout), calf skin sewn around handle and wrapped around wedge, sewn at join (severely worn), natural gut stringing with the mains wrapped around the crossings in similar fashion to real tennis rackets of the period (one string distressed). A RARE AND UNUSUAL RACKET.
