He hit 1,000 runs in a season seven times, his best in 1898 when he hit 1,548 runs at an average of 41.43. His only double century was 216 for Derbyshire v. Leicestershire in 1899. As wicket-keeper in Stoddart's touring team of Australia in 1897/98, he scored 208 test runs.

A.E. STODDART'S TOUR TO AUSTRALIA, 1897-98
a 2½ page contract, dated 27th July 1897, signed by A.E. Stoddart and W. Storer, outlining the terms and conditions for England's tour of Australia, as agreed by The Melbourne Cricket Club, The Trustees of the Sydney Ground and W. Storer. Terms include the Club and Trustees paying Storer three hundred pounds upon completion of the Tour, his "first-class" travel expenses and "his Hotel expenses (exclusive of extras such as Wines Cigars etcetera)". A UNIQUE DOCUMENT RELATING TO THIS FAMOUS TOUR.
