Lot Essay

Zinkeisen was born in Dunbartonshire and studied at the Royal Academy Schools. She completed murals for the ocean-going liners Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. She exhibited widely and her paintings are in the collections of the Imperial War Museum, City Art Gallery in Bradford and Nottingham City Museum and Art Gallery. Her sister Doris was also a well-known artist.
