A George II ebony and brass-mounted quarter striking large table clock with calendar

The case with large brass baluster handle to the inverted bell top with four urn finials (one replaced), unusual foliate brass mounts applied to the four angles, brass-lined glazed sides, the moulded base on brass bracket feet, the dial signed George Clarke Leaden Hall Street London on an arched brass plaque in the matted centre with apertures for mock pendulum with later(?) cut glass bob, calendar and age of the moon, the brass chapter ring with Roman and Arabic chapters and lozenge half-hour markers, original blued steel hour hand, later minute hand, female mask-and-foliate lower spandrels, the subsidiary rings for strike/silent (later blued steel hand) and strike quarters/silent quarters with the original blued steel hand, rolling moonphase in the foliate engraved arch, the substantial movement with thick brass plates and seven ring-turned pillars, triple fusees and spring barrels with wire lines, verge escapement with original(?) backcock and later pendulum, quarter striking on six bells (one replaced) via six hammers with hour strike on a further larger bell, the moon disc rotated by a steel arbor driven from the motionwork, the foliate engraved backplate signed Geo; Clarke Leaden Hall Street London within an oval reserve with wheatear engraved border above two addorsed eagle heads
