A mid/late 19th-Century lacquered-brass compound monocular microscope,
unsigned, the body-tube with rack and pinion, draw-tube and micrometer focusing, the stage with sprung ball-and-socket rod for movement, slide holder, aperture disc and plano-concave mirror, tilting between two uprights from the Y-shaped foot, with one three-bead compound objective, two lens canisters engraved 1 and 3, three eyepieces and two analysers, the mahogany case with key and carrying handle -- 44cm. (17 3/8in.) high
