An O-Yoroi Armor
Edo period (19th century)
Laced in deer skin dyed blue and comprising; a twenty-two plate russet-iron hoshi-bachi with a five-stage gilt-copper chrysanthemum tehen kanamono and shinodare and a wide two-lame kasa neck guard laced in orange, the large fukigaeshi applied with stencilled leather and gilt-metal bosses, peak decorated to match and with fukurin around the edges, the gilt-copper kuwagata-dai pierce-carved and fitted with kuwagata and Buddhist ken maedate; the do of yoroi construction with stencilled leather applied to the front, the waki-ita and the tsuba-ita and to the kyubi no ita and the sendan no ita, the four wide sections of five-lame tassets separated at each of the bottom lames; o-sode mounted with pierce-carved gilt-metal hardware; namazu-gote sleeves lacquered in gold and black with chrysanthemums and butterflies; solid-plate shin guards lacquered black; one wood storage box; one armor stand
