Provenance: Roald Amundsen (WITH AMUNDSEN'S OWNERSHIP INSCRIPTION in Norwegian 'Roald Amundsen Magdalanagarten 28b' on title, and futher inscribed in Norwegian 'This book was with me at the South Pole Roald Amundsen' on the front pastedown), and thence by descent to the present owner.

AMUNDSEN'S FIXED MATHEMATICAL TABLES, USED ON HIS JOURNEY TO THE SOUTH POLE. On 14 December 1911, Amundsen and his team of Olav Bjaaland, Helmer Hanssen, Sverre Hassel and Oscar Wisting reached the South Pole, 35 days ahead of Scott. With remarkable accuracy, Amundsen determined the location of the South Pole to within 200 yards (200 metres) of its correct position.
