A Chinese black and gilt lacquer box, second quarter 19th century
of canted rectangular form, the front with a compartmentalised drawer with a writing slope, the sides with two c-scroll handles, supported on stylised bat feet, decorated with panels enclosing figures before pavilions and in a fenced garden, traces of red pigment -- 14¼in. (36.2cm.) long.
