According to the Archives of Vacheron Constantin, the present watch was manufactured in 1910.
The engraved scene on the reverse of the present watch is after Louis-Léopold Robert's work "Arrivée des Moissonneurs dans les Marais Pontins" or "Summer Reapers arriving in the Pontine Marshes", Musée du Louvre, Paris.
Louis-Léopold Robert (1794 - 1835), was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, but left his native country with the engraver Girardet at the age of sixteen for Paris. He was renowned for his works depicting the customs and life of the people, of southern Italy especially but the painting "Summer Reapers arriving in the Pontine Marshes", 1831, (Louvre), which became the property of Louis Philippe, established his reputation.
