Each of hexagonal baluster form, the panels painted after J.G. Horöldt with large scale Chinoiserie figures at various pursuits, the lower portion in monochrome purple with figures in landscapes reserved in quatrefoil panels within an elaborate rocaille cartouche of trellis, diaper-pattern and foliate scrolls enriched in chocolate brown, the angles of each panel and the neck gilt with Laub-und Bandelwerk, the conforming cover decorated en suite, the waisted hexagonal wooden base painted to match

Lot Essay

The vase illustrated on the right and the cover of the vase on the left are identically painted to the Meissen vase and cover of circa 1730-1735 in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
