LARGE-PAPER COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION, formely belonging to the 4th Earl of Aylesford, MP and Lord Steward of the Household, friend of Horace Walpole, collector of Rembrandt's etchings, and Trustee of the British Museum for 25 years. 'As a book of general reference, one of great utility [with] arms finely engraved' (Lowndes). Among those skilfully hand-coloured in gold and silver, Viscount Wentworth's arms are particularly noticeable (first plate of vol. 3). The plates are complete according to the numbering sequence, but their number appears to vary from copy to copy.
