A pair of powder-blue ground jars and covers, 19th century
each of ovoid shape, with a short tapering neck, surmounted by a domed cover with a pearl-shaped finial, the exterior covered with two oval panels enclosing a flowering gnarled prunus and a scene of figures in boats in a tree strewn mountainous river landscape with pavilions and a pagoda, the cover painted with panels of a fisherman and prunus, all reserved on a purplish toned powder-blue glaze, underglaze blue six-character Jiajing mark -- 16 7/16in. (41.7cm.) high. (2)
