Autograph carte-lettre signed to 'mon cher g' [Gustave Geffroy], postmarked Paris, 13 April 1896, and addressed to G Geffroy, 'Au Journal' on rue Richelieu, Paris, asking Geffroy to a performance of 'L'oeil crevé' at the [Theatre des] Variétés, one page, 8vo. Framed.
Gustave Geffroy (1855-1926), journalist and influential art critic, was closely associated with the Impressionists. His essay on Yvette Guilbert, the cabaret-singer immortalised by Toulouse-Lautrec, was published in Paris in 1894, illustrated with the latter's lithographs.
