BOX: three-tier box with recessed brass side handles, replaced lid, the central section with applied plaque inscribed JOHN POOLE,/57, Fenchurch Street/LondonNO.3471, brass bowl and gimbal, bowl numbered 3471
DIAL: silvered and signed John Poole/MAKER TO THE ADMIRALTY./57, Fenchurch Str.t London.3471, seven day up/down ring at XII and subsidiary seconds at VI, gold hour and minute hands and blued steel subsidiary hands
MOVEMENT: spot-finished plates, main frame carrying reversed chain fusee with maintaining power and centre wheel, sub-assembly with chain guard and carrying the remainder of the train and the escapement, top plate numbered 3471
ESCAPEMENT: Earnshaw type, spring detent with jewelled locking stone, cut bimetallic balance with circular heat compensation weights and Poole's auxiliary, blued steel helical balance spring; tipsy key
