A SCOTTISH ALL-STEEL FLINTLOCK BELT PISTOL BY T. MURDOCH
Late 18th Century
With four-stage barrel with fluted breech, flared octagonal muzzle engraved with four alternating patterns and engraved with characteristic panels of scrollwork over the median, signed engraved bevelled lock, the stock profusely engraved en suite with the barrel, inlaid with three engraved narrow silver panels beneath, the butt inlaid with a complex silver interlaced pattern over the spine and with a pair of silver ovals engraved with owner's crest, silver pricker and trigger each pricked and engraved with a flowerhead, pierced engraved belt hook, and original ramrod.
