A PAIR OF FRENCH FLINTLOCK NAVAL OFFICER'S SMALL PISTOLS (LES CHIEN DE MER) BY DAUPHINE À TULLE

With two-stage barrels moulded at the muzzle, plain tangs and long iron back-straps cut with small decorative raised mouldings at both ends, signed rounded locks, walnut half-stocks carved in low relief, including the locks, side-plates and back-straps each enclosed by waved mouldings, flowers behind the locks and side-plates, and the pommels formed as dog's heads carved in the round, punched with small details and inlaid with white metal eyes inset with beads, engraved moulded iron mounts including long trigger-plates extending to form a barrel-band and also incorporating the fore-sight, and original iron ramrods.
