Decorated all over with white prunus branches reserved on a blue cracked-ice-pattern ground between narrow bands of tooth-pattern at the neck and around the foot -- 8¼ in. (21 cm.) high, pierced wood cover

Lot Essay

According to accompanying copies of a letter and invoice dated 'Shanghai, 27th May 1891', this jar formed part of a collection of ceramics and works of art shipped on the Yokohama Marie and the Gaelic in 1891 for the Hon. Horace Davis.
