The moulded arched hood with pierced soundfrets to frieze and sides, centred by a clasp, surmounted by later giltwood figural finials, arched and checquer banded trunk door wilt gilt bronze lenticle mount depicting the Rape of Europa, on rectangular checquer banded plinth with canted angles with scrolling knees, the brass dial with engraved borders and gilt foliage cast spandrels to an engraved silvered and arcaded Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed Jacobus Lingendonk/AMSTERDAM, matted centre with engraved subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture above a shaped and engraved divided day of week sector with figures and Zodiac symbols, ringed winding holes, brass alarm disc and black painted pierced later steel hands, the silvered arche engraved with figures and ships around the painted rolling moon, the eight day four pillar two train movement with anchor escapement, Dutch rack strike on two bells with pull repeat and alarm; pendulum, two large weights, one small weight, cranck key and door key
