A large Japanese ivory mounted tachi, Meiji period
carved along the full length of the hilt, the quatrefoil shaped tsuba and the scabbard with figures amidst pine trees below cloud scrolls, engaged in farming, tea drinking, smoking and other leisurely pursuits, alternating with bands variously carved with floral scrolls and ho-o birds -- 41 3/16in. (104.6cm.) long.
