A collection of 6 dissertations, mainly dealing with different aspects of alcohol. The first considers the effect of alcohol on health, the second discusses whether a Christian is allowed to drink in good company and questions whether it is a mortal sin to get drunk. The third, fourth and fifth dissertations deal with regulations concerning drinking. The last discusses laws concerning tobacco and contains several poems in its praise including one in French and another mentioning Virginia.
