A Chinese tonkin gilt bronze tripod censer and pierced cover, 18th century
the compressed body of lobed formed with twin Buddhistic lion-head handles, with shaped panels decorated in gilt relief depicting prunus, peony and lotus flower sprays, the shoulder with stylised double petal gilt border, the cover pierced with scrolling chrysantheum flower heads, with Buddhistic lion finial -- 5 3/8in. (13.6cm.) high.
