A SOUTH ITALIAN RED FIGURE TREFOIL-LIPPED OINOCHOE
CIRCA 4TH CENTURY B.C.
With high ribbed handle, the body decorated with the profile head of a woman facing left, wearing double-strand necklace, earring, radiate diadem and sakkos, scrolling tendrils either side, palmette under the handle; and a Xenon ware kylix, on low ribbed foot, the interior painted in red with a swan encircled by a laurel leaf wreath, laurel leaves on the exterior, mid-4th Century B.C.

Provenance
Acquired in 1942 by Lieutenant Arthur Graham, while stationed in Cairo as part of the British Army's Photographic Unit, and thence by descent to the present owner.
