Manuscript on paper, 263ff plus 3 fly leaves, each with 16ll. of clear black naskh reserved in gold clouds, gold and blue verse markers, sura headings in red on gold ground with blue and polychrome illuminated panels, all within black and gold rules, gold and polychrome marginal juz' and hizb markers, signed Ibn Muhammad Amin, Muhammad al-Khwansari, dated 29 Muharram AH 1226, finely illuminated double page frontispiece in the early Qajar style, original lacquer binding, binding slightly scuffed

The opening illumination compares very closely with a larger and slightly later Qur'an in the Ghassan I. Shaker Collection, illustrated in Nabil F. Safwat, Golden Pages, Oxford, 2000, no.25, pp.118-23.
