the cartouche inscribed CARY'S NEW CELESTIAL GLOBE ON WHICH are carefully laid down the whole of the STARS AND NEBULE contained in the Catalogues of Wollaston, Herschel, Bode, Piazzi, Zach & calculated to the year 1820, the sphere made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores, the colures graduated in degrees, the equator graduated in degrees and hours, the equinoctial in months of the year and houses of the Zodiac, the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and Arctic and Antartic circles delineated, with scale for the stars to eight orders of magnitude, the constellation depicted by mythical beasts and figures, with brass graduated hour circle and meridian ring, the applied hand-coloured paper horizon graduated with the months of the year, days of the month, houses of the Zodiac and their sigils, compass points and azimuth and amplitude scales, supported on mahogany stand with four arcs to urn-shaped pedestal and tripod base with brass casters
