the cartouche inscribed CARY'S NEW TERRESTRIAL GLOBE DELINEATED From the best Authorities extant; Exhibiting the last Discoveries towards the NORTH POLE, and every improvement in Geography to the present Time, LONDON,the sphere made-up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores and two polar calottes (varnish removed, with structural damage and some paper loss), the prime meridian labelled The Meridian of Greenwich, the equator graduated, the ecliptic graduated in degrees and sigils of the houses of the Zodiac, the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and the Arctic and Antartic circles delineated, with an analemma, with the tracks of Captain Cook, Lieutenant Pickersgills, Vancouver and others, with graduated brass meridian ring, the hand-coloured engraved horizon (structural and paper damage) graduated with months of the year, days of the month, names and sigils of the houses of the Zodiac and compass points, supported turned mahogany tripod stand (with extensive damage and old repair)
