An unusual German 12½-inch terrestrial globe with moon globe,
indistinct maker's label; 19th Century
the terrestrial (with structural and paper damage) sphere made-up of twelve chromolithographed gores and polar calottes, with geographical information, the prime meridian through Ferro and graduated, the equator graduated, the eliptic graduated in degrees and sigils of the houses of the Zodiac, the colures graduated, the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and North and South Poles delineated, with graduated brass meridian ring, mounted on turned ebony column with 3-inch moon globe half labelled and depicting craters and relief and the other half with tables, supported on turned ebony base (compass missing) on ball feet
