A GROUP OF FINELY CARVED JADEITE SCHOLARS' IMPLEMENTS
EARLY 20TH CENTURY

Comprising two brush handles ending in white jade brush sections, the main shafts carved to simulate bamboo, decorated with birds perched on leafy bamboo branches; a rectangular brushrest carved in high relief with two striding dragons confronting a flaming pearl, its concave base with archaistic inscriptions; and a small rectangular vase with a crane standing on rockwork beside gnarled pine trees and a further crane in flight, the material of emerald green tone with some russet areas and black speckles
