THREE MESOPOTAMIAN TERRACOTTA CUNEIFORM TABLETS
CIRCA 2300-1750 B.C.
Including a round tablet with four lines of Sumerian cuneiform, circa 2050-1900 B.C., with a proverb or a short literary extract reading, "Come, come, come wise one, come wise one, do not delay;" a small rectangular administrative document with fourteen lines of Akkadian cuneiform, circa 2300-2200 B.C. allotting domestic animals to individuals; and an Old Babylonian rectangular tablet, circa 1900-1750, with a letter in twenty-two lines of Babylonian cuneiform reading, "Speak to Bûr-Sîn, 'Thus says Ipqu-Sîn, 'Ishar-Kubi has caused us pain, that is to myself and Ku...kî. He led us to his ... house. He certainly upset us in respect of the barley which I have assigned(?). If you are in truth my brother, let the merchants take "shekel" and come to me. When I have made Abum-waqar listen to me let Saliya and the ... men take the silver and come to me...'"
