MARKED FABERGÉ, WORKMASTER's mark of HENRIK WIGSTRÖM, ST. PETERSBURG, 1908-1917
Of octagonal section, in green translucent enamel over moiré ground, each angle with a dotted border, each end set with an octagonal chalcedony engraved with Arabic inscription in Nastaliq script, within rose-cut diamond border, with rose-cut diamond thumpiece, marked inside cover and base
2 5/8 in. (5.8 cm.) long
Inscription reads: 'The path towards truth is what we hold fast to.' The inscription is often found on 19th Century Islamic seal impressions as well as talismanic seals with no name.
