A Chinese blue and white dish, Kangxi (1662-1722)
with shallow rounded sides moulded with concave lotus petal panels and terminating in a barbed rim, the centre painted with two conversing ladies in a fenced garden, with a floral scroll on the cavetto with mirrored by an indented similarly painted scroll below the rim, the undersides with auspicious emblems and the bajixiang ('Eight Buddhist Emblems') above the raised moulded and painted lappets, underglaze blue six-character Chenghua mark -- 8¾in. (22.2cm.) diam.
