KLEE, Paul (1879-1940). Autograph letter signed ('Klee') to Waldemar Jollos, Munich, 25 March 1920, three pages, 4to, bifolium, envelope.

Klee very much regrets that he has not been able to supply an essay requested by Jollos, but he is recovering his breath after a highly productive year ('Mein letztes Jahr war in der Bildesproduction so toll, daß ich Anfang 20 wohl etwas verschaufen musste'), but he remains charmed by Jollos's idea of combining Klee's art with paraphrases by his father [Hans Klee]; or perhaps Jollos could supply the text and Klee could, via his dealer Goltz, supply 'Klischees' [electrotypes]. The letter continues with reference to his summer exhibition, and asking for news of Zurich -- all he has heard of is a lecture which sounded most 'undadaistisch'. (2)
