The border decorated with the sinuous red dragons between ribbon-tied precious objects, the centre with a flowerhead issuing foliage, within a shaped brown line rim (very slight wear to brown line rim)

Lot Essay

The 'Red Dragon Service' was one of the first major dinner-services produced for the Saxon court. The earliest pieces were made around 1730, but the service was repeatedly supplemented.
