CIRCA 1730, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, WHEEL-ENGRAVED JAPANESE PALACE INVENTORY NUMBER N=226- W
Painted with a large running red tiger with spiralling gilt stripes, large whiskers and a long striped tail, the border and well at the right with branching stems of bamboo, one curved about the edge of the well and border with pale-turquoise, red and gilt flowers, the centre with scattered turquoise foliage (restored rim chip at 8, 10, 5 and 4 o'clock, patches of wear to tiger, bamboo, scattered foliage and gilding, minute sanding to glaze)
