A COMPOSITE FLEMISH RIGHT-HAND GAUNTLET
circa 1510-20
With acutely flared pointed bracelet cuff embossed for the ulna and embossed with a chevron pattern contouring the upper border, fitted with a metacarpal plate shaped for the base of the thumb and embossed for the thumb knuckle, an additional metacarpal plate strongly embossed over the fingers and fitted with a matching articulation over the forward finger joints, the subsidiary edges cusped, and the cuff edge turned and roped.
