A GERMAN TWO-HAND SWORD, IN EARLY 17TH CENTURY STYLE
19th Century
With massive wavy blade struck with a mark at the forte on both sides, long leather-bound ricasso formed with a pair of lugs, iron hilt of flattened bars, including long spatulate quillons, inner-and outer-ring guards each enclosing a flat pointed oval, carrying a pair of arms in turn supporting a smaller pointed rectangular double-ring formed from a single flat plate, engraved with panels of scrolling flowers at the quillon tips and at the centre of the upper ring-guard, faceted plummet-shaped pommel, and leather-bound grip (binding missing).
