A PERCUSSION DUELLING PISTOL BY WOGDON, LONDON
circa 1780
Rebuilt from flintlock, with signed browned swamped octagonal barrel struck with Irish census marks, silver fore-sight, case-hardened breech with platinum lines and plug, the original engraved breech tang incorporating the back-sight, signed plain lock with bevelled edges, stepped tail and blued sliding safety-catch, figured walnut full stock, swelling flat-sided butt, engraved steel mounts retaining much blued finish, probably the original, including butt-cap and trigger-guard with acorn finial, set trigger, and original horn-tipped wooden ramrod.
