AN IBERIAN GILTWOOD ARMCHAIR
MID-18TH CENTURY
The pierced shaped foliate and trellis carved rocaille back and shepherds crook outscrolled armrests, the padded seat covered in red and gold damask above a conformingly carved seatrail and on cabriole legs headed by foliage, the underside with metal plaque inscribed 'LK9813', with transit label inscribed 'W.WINGATE & JOHNSTON LTD' numbered '1610', with traces of black paint beneath the gilding
39½ in. (100 cm.) high; 25 in. (64 cm.) wide; 19½ in. (49.5 cm.) deep
