a 1 of 1 House of Nisbet teddy bear with beige plush, orange and black plastic eyes, black stitched nose, mouth and eyebrows, shaved face area, swivel head, jointed limbs with brown velvet pads, label on foot pad, red-lined black Elizabethan style cape with linen collar, quill and roll of paper, 1988 --22in. Lot Essay

This bear was a one-off design by Jack Wilson and Gyles Brandreth made for the museum. Shakesbeare's appearance is based on Shakespeare Memorial at Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Note from Gyles - William Shakesbeare, of course is known as the author of King Bear, McBear and The Merry Bears of Windsor.
