Lot Essay

This bear was a one-off design by Jack Wilson and Gyles Brandreth made for the museum. Shakesbeare's appearance is based on Shakespeare Memorial at Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Note from Gyles - William Shakesbeare, of course is known as the author of King Bear, McBear and The Merry Bears of Windsor.
