Of double-lobed shape, the domed cover carved with a scholar and attendants in a garden setting, above a band of dragons amidst swirling waves, repeated as a design covering all of the box including the rounded base which is centered by a flaming pearl, interior of box inscribed with a gilt-filled Qianlong six-character mark, interior of cover inscribed with a gilt-filled four-character inscription, yi ju bao he

Lot Essay

The inscription, yi ju bao he, may be translated 'art chrysanthemum treasure box'.
