THE FIGURE CAST FROM A MODEL BY AUGUSTE MOREAU, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
Comprising a figure of a youthful Psyche and a pair of nine-light candelabra; Psyche signed Auguste Moreau Scpt, atop a circular plinth with frieze depicting putti at play, divided by two acanthus patera above four canted angles, on toupie feet; the pair of candelabra each with similar bases surmounted by an amphora centred to each side with a ribbon-tied and laural-draped portrait medallion, with lion's-mask handles and fluted waisted neck supporting a central stem applied with four ram's-masks and issuing eight foliate-cast scrolled branches terminating in a gadrooned drip-pan and laurel-cast nozzle
